Hello All,
I just recently purchased a super 8 camera.
I think anyways. It looks like the ones on the main webpage.
I tried in vain to search for info on this particular camera, but came up with nothing.
Anyways, I was hoping maybe one of you have the exact model as I do....and could maybe lead me in the right direction.
It's a Keystone XL300 It has other marking such as: F:1.1 Auto Zoom Electric Eye; Made in Us by Berkley..
It's a pretty funky camera I just wish I knew how to use it.
I bought it at a flea market today. It's in excellent condition and came with a roll of Kodak Type G Color Movie Film (super 8 cassette cartridge)
Anyways, any kind of feedback would be appreciated. Maybe some fun tips on how to use it and how I would go abouts getting the film processed.
Also, what are you opinions on this camera?
Not good?
So-so?
Good?
Thanks alot, sorry for rambling on and on and on... Just excited over my lil find.

Congratulations, you've taken the leap many others here have.
Now, about your camera...
It's a low-end, cheaper model. OK to get started with, but if you get serious, you'll want to spend more money and get a better one.
My suggestion, is to get on Kodak's webstie, order some Kodachrome 40 & processing, shoot a few rolls and see if you want to continue.
The camera probably won't give you really nice sharp images that better ones do, but if you fall in love with the look of film (and i'll bet you will), then you will be hooked, and spend all your money on this new obsession!

You know, this is the best website I've seen showing various models of cameras and yet either nobody knows about it or they always forget to mention it. If your looking for your model, it's probably listed here maybe even with a picture! Plus it gives some good general info on super 8 along with even more pictures! Be careful, some of the info may be a little off, but it's a good place to start...Enjoy!

About Anssi Puisto (the man behind this super8list-site), he has done couple absolutely great music videos with super 8 here in Finland.
If you like to see some examples of them, just download this (very big) mpgvideo-file I edited from Finnish super 8/16 mm meeting, we had during September 2002. At the end of file you can find some clips of these music videos.

If you like to check the quality of super 8 film, just check it from my transfer-site (from examples page).
